Quick ‘Shepard’s’ pie!

First thing, if you use beef, it’s really Cottage Pie, but if you use lamb it’s really Shepard’s pie as the British know it.

If you can pan fry ground beef, you can do this!

Whenever I see mashed potatoes on sale at the store, I take the help and use it as a short cut. While the oven is preheating, I sautéed the ground beef, drained the fat. Returned it to the pan, added a simple steak seasoning, fresh grated garlic, and diced shallots.
After placing half the mashed potatoes at the bottom, I added some parsley, salt and pepper, and garlic powder. Topped with all the ground beef, then sliced Muenster and potatoes on top.
I baked it for about 30 minutes at 350 then put a little butter on top and returned to the oven on broil.
You can let it brown more, or cut a piece and sneak it into the air fryer to get a nice brown top.
